photogrouplogoThe Brownwood Art Association Photo Group will participate in the local Worldwide Photo Walk on October 1st.  The location for the local shoot will be in Mason, Texas.  The photo shoot will start at 8:45 a.m.  and will last through 11:00 a.m.  Participants will meet at the Mason County Courthouse

“The Square has many storefronts with photographic possibilities, and not far beyond the Square are other interesting sites: The Seaquist House (listed on the National Register of Historic Places); the Mason County Library, with a sculpture commemorating Fred Gipson’s book Old Yeller; and the Odeon Theater (in operation since 1928),” stated Photo Walk leader Julie Mize.

Participants carpooling from Brownwood can meet at the Brownwood Art Center at 215 Fisk Avenue at 7:30 a.m.  The group will enjoy lunch together in one of the restaurants along the Square (TBA).

The Photo Walk is open to anyone who has an interest in photography and would like to participate. The event is free to participate; entrants need only bring their camera. Sign up for the Photo Walk can be made at www.worldwidephotowalk.com.  CLICK HERE to register.

In years past, the Worldwide Photo Walk has had nearly 30,000 photographers participate from nearly 1300 cities/locations across the world.  Each photowalk location is limited to 50 participants.

The Worldwide Photo Walk supports The Springs Of Hope Kenya Orphanage, an organization that feeds, houses, educates and empowers young orphans.  Although the walk is free to participate in, organizers will gladly accept a donation to support The Springs Of Hope Kenya Orphanage and 100% of the donations will be given to the orphanage.
