Brownwood Independent School District unanimously voted Monday to cancel the November 8, 2016 election for the BISD Board of Trustees due to the fact that no challengers filed for seats on the Board of Trustees.

With no contested races, current board members who have filed will remain on the board and no election will be necessary according to BISD officials.

Board members whose places were up for election and who have filed to remain on the board include:

Diane Thompson – Place 2
Eric Evans – Place 4
Brad Jetton – Place 5
