DennisLambertHoward Payne University’s School of Music and Fine Arts will host jazz pianist and HPU alumnus Dennis Lambert for a concert, symposium and multiple music clinics August 31 through September 2.

Dennis Lambert, a 2008 HPU graduate, has traveled the world performing for millions of people. He spent eight years with the United States Air Force Band, during which he received numerous awards including “Musician of the Year” in 2014. Lambert has performed for many dignitaries, political leaders and government officials, including former President Bill Clinton. He has also performed with Jason Marsalis, Eddie Daniels, Butch Miles and many other artists. Dennis is an active clinician, teacher and freelance musician currently living in Tokyo, Japan. Lambert’s second album, “Inner Reflections,” recently released this month.

“I am excited to return to my alma mater and for the opportunity to work with students and faculty of Howard Payne,” said Lambert. “HPU was foundational in my development as a musician, leader and, essentially, a better person. I hope I can bring a little bit of wisdom back to such a great place.”

This event is free of charge and open to the public. (HPU’s Grace Chapel)
