LBCDCKidFishLake Brownwood Community Development Council (LBCDC) hosted their first annual Kid Fish Tournament on July 30th with over 75 kids registered who got a great chance to fish in the lake. Parents were helping their children and the members of the Early Key Club with sponsor Mrs. Blake were there to bait the hook and assist in reeling them in.

Each participant received a rod, reel, tackle, bait and hot dogs for their registration fee. There were three age groups with the youngest being 4 years and under, 5 years to 8 years and 9 years to 12 years. The one with most fish and one with the biggest fish after the official weigh-in were winners in each category.  Sheriff Jones, Mya Cunningham, Cole Priston, Serenty Smith and others were all winners.

LBCDC wants to thank their sponsors Bishop Distributing for the rod and reels, Insurance Specialists for the bait, Weakley-Watson, Walmart and Sportsman’s Center for the prizes for the six winners. LBCDC is a community organization to assist in promoting businesses at Lake Brownwood and will have a community program on September 6, 2016 at 6:00 PM at the Flagship Inn on Hwy 279 at the bridge.

Those with questions or interested in becoming a member may contact Wanda at P. O. Box, 2012, Brownwood, TX 76804 or visit the LBCDC website at www.brownwoodlake.com.
