LighttheNightA community event to show support for local law enforcement will be held on Tuesday, August 9th from 8 PM to 9 PM at the Depot Plaza (600 E. Depot Street).   A reception will be held prior to the event starting at 7:30 PM for the community to meet local officials and law enforcement.

“Light the Night” will be a way for the entire community to join together and honor fallen officers from across the country and show support for law enforcement in Brown County.

The event will feature songs, remarks and prayers from several local organizations.   Blue lights will be distributed during the event to honor fallen law enforcement officers, and “Light the Night” balloons will be released for each of those officers.

Brownwood City Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem Draco Miller will offer closing remarks.

The Brownwood Municipal Police Association will offer a booth with thin blue line merchandise and the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will begin registrations for the 2016 Brown County National Night Out event in October.

For more information, call Jill Bastardo at 325-642-5574.
