Law Enforcement Blotter 7/27

Tuesday, July 26

*12:41 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding an assault.  As a result of the call, 82-year-old Howard Hutton of Brownwood was arrested and charged with assault causes bodily injury family violence.

*3:02 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s corporal was dispatched to Bay Oaks Drive regarding in reference the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, the complainant advised that an unknown person(s) stole several items from his residence sometime between June 1st and June 21st.

*6:30 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Brady Avenue regarding a case of identity theft.  According to the report, the elderly victim stated that someone had opened several credit card accounts in her name in the Houston area.

*8:48 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of 9th Street regarding a domestic disturbance which was in progress.  According to the report, the male suspect, identified as 30-year-old John Coulter of Brownwood, was reported to have attempted to wrap weed eater string around the victim’s neck during the disturbance.  An investigation led to the arrest of Coulter for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon family violence.

*9:30 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 2800 block of Southside Drive regarding a welfare check.  According to the report, a male subject was reported to have threatened a family member of the complainant.  As a result of this call, 27-year-old Jerry Louis of Rotan, Texas was arrested for unlawful restraint, assault threat or offensive touch – family violence, and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone.

*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 17-year-old Matthew Blake Bivins of Early, Texas on a warrant related to failure to appear.

*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 29-year-old Tabitha Jo Carrier of Brownwood on warrants related to no seat belt and violate promise to appear.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 30-year-old Michael Shawn Clay of Bangs, Texas on warrants related to failure to signal lane change, failure to appear traffic and speeding 10% above posted speed.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23-year-old CeeJay Neeko Oliver of Blanket, Texas for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Lynn Hamilton Scott of Clyde, Texas on warrants related to failure to appear/assault occlusion, a surety withdrawal and two Williamson County warrants related to theft.  Scott was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $36,500.

Wednesday, July 27

*12:04 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 1600 block of Good Shepherd Drive.  According to the report, this call led to the arrest of 26-year-old Jessica Bartley of Brownwood for driving while intoxicated.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement jail records.
