Tasha Pippin is a convenience store clerk and mother of four who has struggled to find a way to buy a car.  Through her search for an affordable car, she made friends with the owners of Big J Auto Sales, John and Brandi Stanley.

After looking for about a year to find a car that she could afford, John decided to sell her a 2004 Impala he had on his lot for just $500, but his friend said, “You ought to just give it to her.”  That is what the Stanleys did on Friday, July 8th.

Local businesses helped the Stanleys get the vehicle in optimal shape for Tasha.  Dwayne Hardeman of Dwayne’s Automotive helped fix a few things on the vehicle, L.C. Bloomer and Assistant Manager Abraham Valdez of Discount Tires furnished and installed a new set of tires, Brandon Byars of Auto Zone helped with some floor lamps and a few other needed parts, Tony Moreno and Shane Easley of Express Lube checked the vehicle’s fluids, put on a new registration sticker and changed the oil, and the Stanleys also detailed the vehicle.

When he asked his friends to help, “Everybody just jumped in (to help),” said Stanley.  “Man there is just so much negative stuff in this world, we wanted to do something positive.  I felt led to do this and with Tasha’s situation, it just clicked.”

Pippin explained that this gift means more than just daily transportation, it will allow her to be able to bring her oldest child who lives three hours away home for visits more often.  Pippin’s other children are 4, 6, 8.

Pippin stated that she has been praying about her need for a vehicle.

“When you turn your life over to God, you get blessed,” she said.  “I’m always trying to help do something to help someone out, it’s not like I haven’t been sowing some seed.”  She explained how she recently helped a man pay for gas and has also helped mentally challenged customers with purchases.   By helping others, Pippin felt that the good has returned to bless her now.
