1st Annual Boat Parade Set for Friday at Lake Brownwood

flagdayIn celebration of Independence Day weekend, a boat parade will be held at Lake Brownwood on Friday, July 1st.

The boat parade will begin at 8 PM and boats are asked to line up at the Lake Brownwood dam prior to the start of the parade.   Registration fee is $5 and entries can register at Wild Duck Marina in advance by calling 325-784-7100.

Boats are encouraged to be decorated during the parade in patriotic theme, and prizes will be awarded for some of the best decorated.    Any decorations that may impede visibility or normal navigation must be removed at the conclusion of the parade.

The 1st Annual Boat Parade will kick off a weekend of Independence Day events including the fireworks show hosted by Wild Duck Marina on Saturday, July 2nd at Lake Brownwood.  Call 325-784-7100 for more information.

The Brownwood Jaycees will host their 2nd annual Riverfest event on Monday, July 4th at Riverside Park which will include vendors, a raft race, BBQ Cookoff and more.  Call 979-219-1980 for more info on Riverfest.
