VFW Post 3278 celebrated Flag Day with the residents of Brownwood Senior Care on Tuesday, June 14th.

The VFW members were asked to replace the center’s flags and this turned into a Flag Day event, according to VFW Ladies Auxiliary President Debbie Daniel.  Members of the VFW and their auxiliary took down the old United States and Texas flags and replaced them with new flags.  The history of the flag was read and the group recited the Pledge of Allegiance and a poem “Rugged Old Flag” by Johnny Cash was also read.  The ceremony was concluded with playing of Taps.
