SikesHLGraveside Services for H.L. Sikes, age 76, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Jordan Springs Cemetery with Bill Slaymaker officiating. No visitation will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.

H.L. left this earthly world to meet the Master June 10, 2016.  He was a delightful character and now entertains behind the gates with his one liners.

Horace Lloyd Sikes was born April 4, 1940, in Brownwood, TX and raised there by his grandmother, Betty B. “Mammie” Sikes.  He married Emily Smith on November 28, 1958; she preceded him in death on April 19, 2016.  H.L. had a lengthy career with GTE as a computer programmer. He loved to golf and ‘roll some bones’ in Vegas.

Preceding him in death along with his loving wife, Emily, are his grandson, Ryan Sharp; and several special aunts and uncles.

H.L. is survived by his caring son, Vince Sikes and Susan; daughter, Rhonda; granddaughter Emily Sharp; and great-grand daughter Presley Ryan.

The family would like to express gratitude to Dr. Chris Barnett and also to Hospice of San Angelo for their loving care these last few weeks.  Memorials can be made to Hospice of San Angelo or a charity of your choice. We will miss you.

Online condolences for the family can be left at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
