Ernestine Keeney Dockery Simmons, age 90 of Early, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 in Brownwood.

Graveside services will be on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 11 AM in Eastlawn Memorial Park. Family Visitation will be from 10-11 AM prior to the service.

Ms. Simmons was born on Thursday, January 7, 1926 in Coleman to Thomas Ernest and Lillian Clarice Keeney. Ms. Simmons enjoyed Sewing, Quilting, and Gardening. She attended Crossroads school as a child. She was a retired homemaker, and attended Hillcrest Church of Christ in Coleman.

She leaves behind two daughters and sons-in-law Joyce & Alton Wyatt of Early and Wilma Conway & husband Paul of Leavenworth, Kansas; brother LeRoy Keeney of Santa Anna; two grandchildren Michelle Kindell of Troy, Ohio and Scott Conner of Austin; five great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; nieces Sherlyn Walker, Melba Duke, and Sharon Guthrie and nephews Roy Dean Keeney, and Jim Keeney.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Billy Marion Wyatt, brothers James F. Keeney, Richard Keeney and a niece Janice Wells.
