Three Early Elementary 5th graders were honored with prizes and ribbons after winning a statewide poster contest for the Texas Floodplain Management Association.

Markie Casebier traveled to Early Elementary, and was joined by representatives from the City of Brownwood and the City of Early for a small awards ceremony, where the three students were notified of their prizes.

First place went to Leila Gautier, Second Place went to Yasmin Ibarra, and Third Place went to Krista Palmour.

The artists’ work with be featured in a calendar produced and distributed by the Texas Floodplain Management Association throughout the state of Texas, and in Oklahoma and Louisiana as well.  The calendar is scheduled to be printed in August 2016.
