Wednesday, May 18

*10:00 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Main Blvd regarding theft.  According to the report, an investigation of the theft of a lawnmower is ongoing.

*10:05 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the burglary of a vehicle in the 1800 block of Houston Street.  According to the report, a GPS unit was stolen from the vehicle.

*12:50 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding identity theft.  According to the report, someone had gotten a “payday” loan in the complainant’s name in 2015.

*5:30 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of 12th Street regarding the theft of a firearm.  According to the report, the firearm was a Taurus 0.45 caliber handgun, valued at $400.

*6:35 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of US 377 South regarding credit card or debit card abuse.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44-year-old Melissa Kay Grear of Everrett, Washington on warrants related to forgery of a financial instrument, theft of property greater than $20 less than $500 by check and a bench warrant.

*Brown County Sheriff’s office arrested 23-year-old Nicolette Lanham of Coleman, Texas on a surety withdrawal/possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram and a bench warrant.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 17-year-old William Andrew Turner of Santa Anna, Texas on a warrant related to unauthorized use of a vehicle.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement jail records.
