RhondaChantayBlankinship11:00 AM Update: The Brown County Sheriff’s Department and the Texas Rangers are investigating the homicide of a North Lake woman whose body was found Sunday evening.

Saturday evening, the sheriff’s office received a call regarding the disappearance of Rhonda “Chantay” Blankinship, 25, a Brown County resident from the North Lake Brownwood area. Family reported last seeing Blankinship Friday in her neighborhood.

Friends, family and volunteers launched a search party Sunday in an effort to locate Blankinship. Chief Deputy Vance Hill discussed the situation. “While everyone was searching for Rhonda, deputies were following up on leads regarding Rhonda’s disappearance.”

Hill reported Blankinship’s body was located around 5:20 p.m. Sunday. “Her body was found in a rural area approximately five miles from her home. The evidence does support that she is a victim of homicide.”

Blankinship’s body has been sent to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
