Funeral services for Mary Ruth Lamb Irick, age 89, of Early, will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with James Glasscock officiating.  Burial will follow in the Santa Anna Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Mrs. Irick died Friday, May 13, 2016 at her home surrounded by family.

Ruth was born on March 6, 1927 in Santa Anna to Melvin and Lee (McCorkle) Lamb.  She attended Santa Anna schools and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Santa Anna.  Ruth worked for a time as a nurse but was mostly a homemaker.  She made sure to pass down her cooking and sewing skills to her family.

Ruth married William Earl Irick, Jr. on February 1, 1947 in Santa Anna.  He preceded her in death in 2007.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Jean Elizabeth “Beth” Joyner of Early; three grandchildren, Vance Joyner, Amy Bynum and husband Chuck and Lori Joyner and three great-grandchildren, Samuel Irick Joyner, David Joyner and wife Savannah, and Kristy Joyner.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother John Bartlett Lamb.
