A two-vehicle accident near Heartland Mall sent both drivers to the hospital and both vehicles badly damaged.

The accident occurred in the 1000 block of US Highway 183 North at approximately 4:40 p.m. as a Chevrolet Z71 extended cab pickup was traveling northbound, followed by a Toyota Tundra extended cab pickup.

The Toyota struck the Chevrolet in a “rear ending,” which caused the female driver of the Chevrolet to lose control, traveling onto the curb and through a grassy area striking a sign pole and then crossing Old Comanche Road into a bar ditch.   The cause of the accident was not available at the time of the accident.

Both drivers of the vehicles were transported by ambulance to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center ER for evaluation and treatment of their injuries.

Both of the vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene of the accident.

Pictured above and below are photos of the damaged vehicles and the accident scene.
