Early voting begins Monday for Several Local Elections

Early voting will begin on Monday, April 25th for several local elections in Brown County, and Brown County Elections Administration announced polling places and released sample ballots for the May 7th elections for the City of Bangs, City of Brownwood, City of Early and the Blanket ISD.

In Bangs, six are running for three open seats in the Bangs City Council. Carrol Wells, who was appointed in 2015 to fulfill the unexpired term of Richard Perez as well as incumbents Larry Lohman and Larry Williford have filed. Also filing were Rick Gravell, Sue Boyer and Toby Bowers.

Residents of the cities of Brownwood and Early will each vote to convert their economic development corporations to a municipal development district with no other elections on their ballots.

For Blanket school board Place 3, incumbent Beth Bowyer will be challenged by Vicky Jenkins. Place 4 candidates include Sherry Gill, Janis Kinkade or Robert Menchacha and in Place 5, Russell Wigham will be challenged by Ronnie Davis.

Early Voting will take place for all of these elections at the Adams Street Community Center, located at 511 E. Adams Street in Brownwood.  Early Voting times will be from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. April 25-29 and from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. May 2-3.

 

Election Day, Saturday, May 7, 2016, polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the following locations.

City of Bangs: Bangs Community Center, 406 Spencer, Bangs, TX 76823

City of Brownwood: Adams Street Community Center, 511 E. Adams St., Brownwood, TX 76801

City of Early: Early Community Center, 419 Garmon Dr. (Highway 84/183), Early, TX 76802

Blanket ISD: Blanket ISD Cafeteria, 901 Avenue H, Blanket, TX 76432
