Brownwood Fire Department – Fire & Rescue Reports 4/5

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the period of March 28-April 3, 2016 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 27 medical emergencies, 5 fire calls, 1 lock-in, 1 agency assistance and 5 motor vehicle accidents.

Reports of interest that the Brownwood Fire Department responded to include:

Monday, March 28

*7:37 PM – Brownwood Fire Department were dispatched to a fire call in the 2400 block of Coggin Avenue.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a trash dumpster smoldering and the fire extinguished.

Wednesday, March 30

*7:31 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident with no injuries on North Highway 279.

Thursday, March 31

*7:44 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries in the 300 block of Bluffview Drive.  Firefighters provided care.

*2:18 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 1000 block of Brinn Street regarding a fire with explosion.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find a neighbor burning trash in a fire outside the city limits.  No hazards were found.

*3:11 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a fire call in the 2600 block of County Road 294 to assist Early and Zephyr Volunteer Fire Departments with a structure fire.  The fire was out upon arrival fire crews’ arrival; however, they helped check for hotspots.

Friday, April 1

*8:06 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a fire call in the 1600 block of Brady Avenue.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a man burning trash in a grill. He was informed of the city ordinance and extinguished the fire.

*10:41 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 2500 block of Songbird Circle regarding a general fire alarm. Fire crews were cancelled while in route.

Saturday, April 2

*3:25 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 3500 block of South US Highway 377.  Firefighters arrived on scene and assisted with loading an occupant for transport.

Sunday, April 3

*1:28 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries in the area of Main and Anderson Streets.

*6:01 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a lock-in at the 400 block of W. Commerce.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find a baby locked in a car. Firefighters gained entry and returned the child.

*9:40 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched for an agency assist in the area of 3rd Street and Coggin to assist police with an accident.

*10:12 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to the area of Fisk and Trapp Streets where they arrived on scene of a 2 vehicle accident with no injuries.
