Funeral services for Edna Hopkins, age 84, of Brownwood, will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 4, 2016 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until 5:00.

Ms. Hopkins passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 in Brownwood.

Edna Lee Duncan was born on March 10, 1932 in Comanche, Oklahoma to Edna and Noble Lee Duncan. She married James A. Hopkins in Lawton, Oklahoma on December 31, 1950. Edna attended school at Comanche, Oklahoma and Anaheim, California. She was a Business Manager, and was the owner of a bookstore for many years.

She is survived by three sons, James N. Hopkins and wife Amanda of San Antonio; Larry B. Hopkins of Brownwood and Bill Hopkins and wife Tammy of Early; a son-in-law Floyd Mueller of Brownwood; a brother & sister-in-law Jerry A. Duncan and wife Donna of Lake Elsinore, California; a sister and brother-in-law Linda Covington and her husband Tearl of Zephyr; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ms. Hopkins was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years, James, a daughter, Tania Mueller, and a sister Ida Yearby.
