NethertonWandaWanda June Netherton (Walters) passed away peacefully in her home on March 17, 2016 in Brownwood, TX at the age of 74.

Wanda is survived by her eight children, Debra Perry of Brownwood, Shirley Partida and husband Cipriano of Brownwood, Fred Netherton III and wife Paula of Brownwood, Michael Netherton of Brownwood, Richard Netherton of Brownwood, Clifton Netherton and wife Debbie of Early, Mary Huff of Brownwood, and Jessica Netherton of Brownwood, 29 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Fred Netherton Jr., daughter Peggy Netherton, parents, brother, James Walters of Brownwood, and sister, Lucille Cumba of Brownwood, baby sister Goldine Walters and grandson Josh Shumaker of Kerrville.

Wanda was born on May 23, 1941 in Callahan County to Ellis and Vernie Walters. She graduated in 1969 with a degree in Nursing from the San Saba School of Nursing. She married Fred Netherton Jr. on January 18, 1957. After returning to Brownwood, Wanda began working as an LVN. Over 28 years, the couple welcomed nine children into their home. Her children remember her as a kind, caring, loving mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Wanda was accomplished homemaker. She was a caring  individual who loved her family. She was an active and dedicated member of the Pentecostal Church, and through that she learned values that she carried with her for the rest of her life; and taught those values to her children.   A funeral is scheduled for 2pm, Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Davis Morris Funeral Home. Bill Slaymaker will officiate the ceremony.  Visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 18, 2016, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home, from 6pm until 8pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Wanda’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the charity of your choice. Condolences can be left for the family by visiting www.davismorrisfuneralhome.com. The family would like to thank Dr. Chris Stephens, Gentiva Hospice, and The devoted staff of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
