Lela Mae Collier Smith

SmithLelaMaeLela Mae Collier Smith, age 85, of Brownwood peacefully gained eternal life on Wednesday, March 16, 2016.

Services for Lela will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Faith Baptist Church with Russell Williams officiating; burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.

Lela was born to C.M. and Inez (Graves) Collier on November 15, 1930, in Brownwood. She was a lifetime resident of Brownwood and owner of Longhorn Auto Sales for many years. Lela married Ira H. Smith on April 22, 1947, they had 3 children. Lela loved her family dearly. She enjoyed taking care of them and having family dinners together. She was a very faithful member of Faith Baptist Church for 40 years.

Lela is survived by her children, Milt Smith and wife Celeste of San Antonio, Debbie Brown and husband Tony of College Station, Glen Smith and wife Tina of Brownwood; grandchildren, Robby Smith, David Smith, Shannon Soto, Tammy Miles, Jeremy Smith, Missi Boatwright, and Lyndsey Williamson; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira H. Smith; parents; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; 1 great-granddaughter, Dakota; and Robert Smith.

Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society/Breast Cancer in her memory. Online condolences are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
