Brownwood Fire Department – Fire & Rescue Reports 3/16

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the period of March 7-13, 2016 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 26 medical emergencies, 4 fire calls, 8 motor vehicle accidents and 1 hazardous materials call.

Reports of interest that the Brownwood Fire Department responded to include:

Monday, March 7

*12:52 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in the 500 block of Main Street.

*5:15 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a hazardous materials call in the 500 block of 6th Street. Firefighters arrived on scene to find EMS with patients.  EMS requested fire crews to remove multiple bug foggers from the residence.  Fire crews donned air packs and removed 6 foggers from inside the house.

*5:30 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident in the area of Coleman and Main Streets.  Police were on scene and were unable to locate the incident.  Fire crews were advised to stand down.

Tuesday, March 8

*5:29 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at Fisk Street and Austin Avenue.  The occupant of one vehicle was transported by EMS.

*10:01 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire call in the 1500 block of Indian Creek Drive.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find that a lightning strike had caused the fire alarm to activate. Fire Crews investigated the building inside and out with a thermal camera and found no hazards.

Wednesday, March 9

*1:42 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident with entrapment in the 500 block of Commerce Street.  Rescue crews arrived on scene and began extrication. Once the door was removed, the occupant was loaded in to an ambulance for transport.

Thursday, March 10

*8:46 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 1700 block of Coggin Avenue.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find that work being done inside the building caused the alarm to activate.  There was no fire and the alarm system was restored.

Friday, March 11

*2:11 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at 4th Street and Avenue J.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find all occupants out of the vehicles.  There were no injuries.

*3:37 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a minor motor vehicle accident in the 200 block of E. Commerce.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find all occupants out of the vehicles and there were no injuries.

*4:15 PM – Brownwood Fire Department were dispatched to a lock-in in the 1600 block of Melwood.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find a vehicle locked with a child inside.  Firefighters quickly unlocked the vehicle and returned the child to the parents.

*6:26 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 4200 block of 8th Street.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a power line down and notified the utility company.

Saturday, March 12

*4:11 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of W. Commerce and Beaver Street.  Firefighters arrived on scene and all occupants declined treatment.

*4:30 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 14000 block of Highway 45.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find a tractor situated in a burn pit almost completely consumed.  The fire was contained.

Sunday, March 13

*3:26 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the area of Vine Street and Avenue K responded to smoke in the area, smoke was determined to be a lawn mower.
