Christine Turner

TurnerChristine Turner, 93, of Coleman, died March 8, 2016 at Coleman County Medical Center.  Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Rev. Daniel Stovall officiating.  Burial will be in the Mt. View Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Christine Keeney on May 22, 1922 in Coleman County to Mike Keeney and Belle Fry Keeney.  She grew up in Coleman attended school in Coleman.  On December 16, 1939, she married Carl W. Turner in Brownwood.  He preceded her in death in July, 1978.  Mrs. Turner worked in the cafeteria as a cook for the Coleman Independent School District.  She also taught the Beginners Sunday School Class at Emmanuel Baptist Church for 21 years, volunteered her time at the Coleman Senior Center and loved playing dominoes.  She was a member of Concho Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Randy Turner and wife, Kathy, of Coleman; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Turner of San Angelo; eight grandchildren, Jolee Karle and husband, Kevin, of Weatherford, Matt Turner of Coleman, Jessica Webb and husband, Jeff of Waco; Kristen Miller and husband, Steven, of Abilene, Colt Turner and wife, Shawna, of Arlington, Cheyenne Turner of Austin, Jacque Rosales and husband, Ruben, of Coleman, Andrea Aldridge of Houston; nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband Carl, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Turner, and eight brothers and sisters, Raymond Keeney, Lula Mae Mitchell, Gladys Slayton, John Keeney, Ike Keeney, Ethel Watson, Elizabeth Love and Doris Keeney.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Stevens Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Christine to the Coleman Senior Center, 916 South Concho Street, Coleman, Texas 76834.
