Scotty Plaster

PlasterScottyFuneral services for Scotty Plaster, age 65, of Early, will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Early First Baptist Church.  Burial will take place at 11:00 Wednesday in Greenleaf Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 7:30.

Scotty went to meet his Lord and Savior on February 27, 2016 at the age of 65.

Scotty Plaster was born in Fort Worth, Texas on April 26, 1950 to James Franklin and Dorothy Selma Plaster.  Scotty was a star athlete in high school and was offered a scholarship to the University of Texas upon graduation.  He instead chose to marry his childhood sweetheart Brenda Luck Plaster.  Scotty and Brenda were married for 47 years and had two wonderful sons, Brian and Chad.

Scotty was always actively involved with his family and was a member of the Early ISD School Board for 9 years.  He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Early.  Scotty’s passion was for children, especially those who were less fortunate than his own.  He loved supporting youth hunts on his ranch for those children as well as coaching youth sports activities.

Scotty worked for the Rock Island and Burlington Northern Railroads for a total of 30 years, where he made many wonderful friends to last a lifetime.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Brenda, his sons; Brian Plaster and wife Crystal, Chad Plaster and wife Jennifer, his father; Franklin Plaster, brothers; Larry Plaster and wife Geneta and Rex Plaster and wife Laura, Grandchildren; Colt Plaster and wife Julia (and baby P), Baylie Plaster, Hunter Plaster, Krista Plaster, Kaitlyn Luckie, and Morgan Luckie, and his favorite sister-in-law, Debi Hodges.

He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Plaster.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Early First Baptist Church or Good Samaritan Ministries.
