Edwyna Wood

WoodEdwynaEdwyna Dame Wood was born on October 13, 1937 in Purcell, Oklahoma to her parents, Clinton and Pauline Dame. She graduated from Vanoss High School in Vanoss, OK.  She married George Harold Wood of Stamford in 1958. Mr. Wood’s job with Halliburton took Ms. Wood and her family all over the world.  They settled in Brownwood in 1979.  There they owned several businesses and had ties to the community.

Ms. Wood is survived by her granddaughter and son-in-law, Courtney and Wesley Jennings, of Frisco and their two sons, Jackson and Grayson; her granddaughter, Jennifer Linder of Houston and her sons Braden and Lyndam Linder; and her grandchildren Hillary and W.L. Wood of Slaton; and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, George; her daughter, Shari Linder; and her son, Wesley Wood.

Ms. Wood died Monday, February 29, 2016 in Little Elm.

A time of visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Heartland Funeral Home in Early.  Ms. Wood will be lay to rest in a graveside ceremony on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 11:30 am at Greenleaf Cemetery, Brownwood.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ms. Woods’ life.
