Texas Department of Public Safety will host a memorial dedication ceremony to honor one of their brothers at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 12th.

The ceremony will take place at the DPS office in Brownwood, where a memorial will be placed to honor the life and years of service of Sgt. Karl Keesee.

Sgt. Keesee was killed in a one-vehicle accident the night of Thursday, October 29th near Goldthwaite.  According to DPS officials, Keesee joined DPS in 1990 and was stationed in Brownwood. He was the 217th DPS officer to die in the line of duty since 1837.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony at the DPS office, located at 1516 Market Place Blvd, in Brownwood.
