DaughertyLindaA funeral service for Linda Emerson Daugherty, 62 of Brownwood, Texas will be held at Heartland Funeral Home in Early, Texas at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27th. Pastor David Barnum will be officiating the service with a graveside following at Taylor’s Chapel Cemetery in Comanche, Texas.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00 p.m. at Heartland Funeral Home on Friday, February 26th.

Linda went to be with her Lord Sunday, February 21, 2016 in Temple, Texas.

She was born March 30, 1953 in Big Spring, Texas to Carl William and Marlene Jane Emerson. She married Samuel Terry Daugherty in Midland, Texas November 20, 1971. Linda had lived in the Brownwood area for 23 years. While living in Brownwood, Linda worked at Howard Payne University for 10 years and participated in the Red Hat Society, The Republican Women’s Club, as well as involved in church. Linda was a member of Grosvenor Baptist Church.

Mrs. Daugherty is survived by her daughter Allison Daugherty Hopkins, her husband Gary Hopkins and their children Micaiah, Charis, Tobias, Josiah, and Eliana all of Forsyth, Georgia; her son James Terry Daugherty, his wife Tiffany Daugherty, and their son Brayden of Temple, Texas; her son John Lawrence Daugherty, his wife Cassandra Daugherty, and their children Samuel, Kaylyn, Michael, Malachi, Lindsey, and Derek all of Clyde, Texas; a sister Betty Lynn Schwartz of Blanket, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Terry Daugherty and her parents Carl William and Marlene Jane Emerson.

The family request that memorials be made to the American Liver Foundation, P.B. C. Fund, The American Heart Association, or the Jack Standford Scholarship Fund, Howard Payne University.
