Monday, February 8

*11:34 AM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding identity theft.  According to the report, a suspect had opened a Victoria’s Secret credit card account with the complainant’s personal information and had charged a large amount at a shopping mall in Houston.

*1:40 PM – Brownwood Police received a report of fraudulent use of identifying information.  According to the report, the complainant’s personal information was used to open an AT&T cellular account in 2009.  The complainant wished to pursue criminal charges.

*2:17 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of Houston and Sycamore Streets.  According to the report, this stop led to the arrest of 31-year-old Joshua Townsend of Brownwood for driving while license invalid with previous convictions.

*3:25 PM – Brownwood Police received a report of credit/debit card abuse.  According to the report, $1073 was stolen from the complainant’s account.

*7:00 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 600 block of N. Fisk Street regarding the burglary of a habitation.  An investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 29-year-old Betti Leeann Hounshell of Early on warrants related to failure to maintain financial responsibility and driving while license invalid.

*Brownwood Police arrested 29-year-old Justin Daniel Salinas of San Saba on a parole warrant.

Tuesday, February 9

*12:14 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 100 block of Carnegie Street regarding the hit and run of a cross walk sign.  According to the report, a witness stated that a small four door vehicle occupied by two males had hit the sign and then drove away, turning south on Baker Street then west on Washington Avenue.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records.
