StroopeBillBill Stroope, 80, of Andrews passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 in Andrews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 9, 2016 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Rev. Larry Brewer, officiating.  Interment will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.  Please celebrate the life of Bill by visiting www.mcnettfuneralhome.com.

Bill was born on October 4, 1935 in Callahan County, Texas to Willie Russell Stroope and Gladys Gillit Stroope.  He was raised in Baird, Texas and graduated from Baird High School in 1954.  He married Jo Ann Owen on July 15, 1975 in Brownwood.  They were lifelong residents of Brownwood and Andrews, and he was a Baptist.  He had worked as a mechanic for Johnny Smith Motors in Andrews and Hi-Way Auto Parts in Brownwood.  While in Andrews, he was a member of the Andrews Mesquite Burners, Andrews Bowling Association, and the Andrews Volunteer Fire Department.  He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 son, Marshall Stroope in 2010; 1 brother; and 2 sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Stroope of Andrews; 3 sons, Paul Stroope and Shelly May of Ozona, William Stroope and Sharon Longnecker-Kyler of Mansfield, and Jeff and Billie Stroope of Granbury; 2 daughters, Becky and Arturo Cerda of Abilene, Debora and Johnny Voorhies of North Zulch, Tx; 2 stepsons, Les and Margarita Jeffcoat of Andrews and James and Dewana Jeffcoat of Andrews; 1 stepdaughter, Dee and Steve Southern of Andrews; 29 grandchildren; and 35 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to the Andrews Volunteer Fire Department, 111 Logsdon, Andrews, Texas 79714.
