Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes, compiled as reported this week by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Lake Brownwood

Water murky; 60–64 degrees; 0.28′ high. Black bass are fair on watermelon jigs and crankbaits, and on chartreuse GrandeBass 4″ Trickster worms over brush piles. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies and crankbaits off lighted docks at night. Crappie are good on minnows and white tube jigs over brush piles. Channel catfish are fair on cut bait and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

Lake Coleman

Water murky; 65–69 degrees; 4.93′ low. Black bass are good on perch colored spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are good on live minnows and pink tube jigs. Channel catfish are fair on stinkbait and liver. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 53–59 degrees; 45.82′ low. Black bass are fair to good Texas rigs, jigs, squarebill crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs fished shallow. Catfish are fair to good on live bait.

Lake Proctor

Water murky; 62–66 degrees; 4.77′ high. Black bass are fair on chartreuse and watermelon soft plastic worms and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are fair on white striper jigs and slabs. White bass are fair on minnows and small spinnerbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and pink tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait and shad. Yellow catfish are slow.
