BowenEvaGreenOur mother, nana, sister, aunt went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 25, 2015 at the age of 83.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, at Davis Morris Funeral Home with David Barnum officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 at the funeral home with interment at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early.

She and her twin sister, Edith, were born on May 5, 1932, in Liberty Hill, Texas to Frank and Lela Whitehead. On June 25, 1949, she was married to the love of her life, EJ Green. They made their home in the Austin area until moving to Brownwood in 1961. In 1963, they bought a home at Lake Brownwood and raised their four children there.

Eva’s home was always full of her kids’ friends, it was always open to anyone that needed somewhere to stay or a meal. She worked as a dental assistant for many years until she finally retired in the early ’90s after EJ passed away.

Eva was very gifted when it came to oil painting. She created many beautiful works of art for churches, family members and friends. When she wasn’t painting she loved to read, tend to her many plants, and enjoy her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

Left behind to cherish her memory are sons, Larry Green of Washington State, Jerry Green and wife Dian of Bangs; daughter, Barbara Goolsby and husband Aron of Lake Brownwood; sisters, Idola Green and Edith Todd of Georgetown; grandsons, Scott Collier and wife Christy of Altus, Oklahoma, and James Green of Seattle Washington; granddaughters, Brittany Craddock and husband Troy of Early, Tessa Knickerbocker and husband Ryan of Frisco, Madison Green of Bangs, and Nivea Green of Ellensburg, Washington; great-grandchildren, Koral Sanchez, Justus Collier, Isabela Avalos, Seth Crawford, Avery Knickerbocker, Drew Knickerbocker and Eryn Craddock; and one great-great grandson, Elijah Sanchez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Ira “Bud” Whitehead, C.L. Whitehead, Roy Whitehead and Robert Whitehead; sisters, Fay Bell and Mickey Staton.

Pallbearers will be David Allen, Troy Craddock, Seth Crawford, Ryan Knickerbocker, John Delarosa and Bill Slaymaker.

Condolences for the family may be left online at www.davismorrisfuneralhome.com.

Arrangements under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home, Brownwood, TX.
