Bill Hays passed away at home December 24, 2015 after a short illness at the age of 84. Funeral Services for Mr. Hays will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2:00 PM at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will be at Windham Cemetery at Byrd’s store, Lake Brownwood. Bro. Bill Slaymaker will officiate.
Bill was born August 4, 1931 to Charlie Bond Hays and Birdie Lee Dale Hays in Tahoka, Texas. He was a non-denominational church member. He married Thelma Marie Purcell in 1954 in Midland, Tx.
Bill is survived by his wife, Marie, of 61 years. They had 3 children; daughter, Janet Ballard and husband Larry; sons, Billy Hays and wife Sadie, and son Scott Hays and adopted daughter by love, Stephanie Ire; grandchildren, Danny, Melissa, Stephanie, Rex, Tiffany; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Velma Gaylor of Austin, Tx.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Odus, Herchell, and Howard Hays; sisters Alma McMillian, Charlene Aldridge; and one granddaughter, Heather Gail Dominguez.
