BishopTodA Memorial Service celebrating the life of Tod Edwin Bishop, age 42, of Mullin, TX, will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends prior to the service in the CCC Building at the church from 12:00 until 2:00 on Tuesday.  The service will be under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.

Tod passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015 in Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Tod Edwin Bishop was born on September 11, 1973 in Anniston, Alabama to Dennis and Laurie (Causey) Bishop.  He attended Zwolle High School in Zwolle, Louisiana and graduated in 1993.  In February of 1998, Tod moved to Brown County to live at the Aldersgate Enrichment Center group home.  He was a member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.

Tod loved being around people and if you met him, you were only a stranger once.  He was a member of the 4-H and FFA while growing up.  Tod loved being outdoors hunting, fishing and riding his Kubota.  Tod adored his nieces and nephews and loved them beyond words.  Military men and women, law enforcement and first responders were always special to Tod.

Tod is survived by his parents,  Dennis and Laurie Bishop of Mullin, TX, three sisters, Mendi McCall and husband Kelby of Lufkin, TX, Dena McGregor and husband Jason of Hamilton, TX, Kelly Haney and husband Shawn of Tyler, TX, maternal grandmother, Gilda Causey of Gonzales, LA; nieces and nephews, Kasen and Kalli McCall, Josy, Brazos, and Haley McGregor, Aiden and Aniston Haney; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and an untold amount of friends from Texas and Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Causey, and his paternal grandparents, Abner and Mary Nell Bishop, all of Gonzales, LA.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in Tod’s name to Aldersgate Enrichment Center, PO Box 1406, Brownwood, TX, 76804 or to Coggin Avenue Baptist Church, 1815 Coggin Avenue, Brownwood, TX 76801.

Condolences can be offered to the family online at heartlandfuneralhome.net.
