Two drivers were injured in a collision Friday afternoon at the intersection of 14th Street and Avenue K.

The accident occurred at approximately 2:10 p.m. Witnesses state that a Nissan Quest van was traveling south on Avenue K when it collided with a Jeep Patriot which was traveling east on 14th Street. The impact caused the van to strike a tree and the Jeep to strike the curb on the southwest corner of the intersection.

Both female drivers were transported by ambulance to the emergency room for evaluation and treatment of their injuries.

Brownwood Police Department, Brownwood Fire Department and Allegiance Ambulance responded to the scene of the accident.
