James Edward Flowers, Sr.

Inurnment for James Edward Flowers, Sr. age 61 of Brownwood will be held at a later date in the Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith Arkansas.  Cremation is under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.

Mr. Flowers died November 21, 2015 at his home in Brownwood.

James was born on June 8, 1954 in Brownwood to Melvin and Molly Flowers.  He graduated from Brownwood High School and was a disabled veteran of the U.S. Army.  James was a Baptist.  He enjoyed fishing, music, camping, animals, boating, and riding his motorcycle.

James is survived by a daughter, Jessica Rodriguez and husband “Chelo”, a son, Zachary Flowers Rodriguez, a daughter, Mellissa Castillo, a son, James Flowers, Jr. and wife Gina, and a daughter, Jamie Dyser; five grandchildren, Paul Jennings, Elijah Wingle, Josiah Wingle, Johnsiah Youngblood, and Johasia Youngblood; a sister, Karen Aycox, two aunts, Linda Rush and Bonnie Armstrong; his cousins and friends, dogs, Summer and Sissy and all the cats.

James was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Ronnie Aycox.

The family requests memorials be made to Good Samaritan Ministries.
