The Garden Club at Woodland Heights Elementary recently gathered to thank representatives from both Cullen’s Hometown Market and Home Depot for donations that will help them with their garden.

Cullen’s Hometown Market donated a pallet of pansies, mums, and snapdragons for the club to plant in the Margie Michael Learning Garden located at the front of the school. Home Depot donated $75 that was used to buy various bulbs, plants, fertilizer, and garden tools for students to use.

The Garden Club is just one of many after school programs that are a part of “The Leader in Me” initiative that was recently adopted by the school and funded with a grant from the Brownwood Foundation for Excellence.

“Woodland Height’s Garden Club would like to thank Cullen’s Hometown Market and Home Depot for their generous donations,” said kindergarten teacher, Kelsie Eldred. “The Garden Club is an after school program that provides hands on learning opportunities for students.”
