Brownwood emergency responders were called to a two-vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of 9th Street and Coggin Avenue on Friday morning.

The accident occurred at approximately 11:40 a.m. when a Chevy Suburban traveling southwest on Coggin was struck by a Crown Victoria, traveling south on 9th.

The elderly driver of the Crown Victoria was transported to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of her injuries which, according to emergency responders, appeared to be nonlife-threatening.  The driver and passenger of the Suburban reported only having minor injuries, including bruises and scrapes and did not require transport.

Both vehicles were spun around due to the impact, and sustained significant damage.  The Crown Victoria, pictured above, had severe front end damage as well as broken windows and damage to the back quarter panel of the driver’s side.  The Suburban appeared to have damage to the front passenger side quarter panel.

Brownwood Police Department, the Brownwood City Marshal, Brownwood Fire Department and Allegiance EMS responded to the scene of the accident.

Pictured above and below are photos of the damaged vehicles.
