Law Enforcement Blotter 11/20

LECSmLaw enforcement arrests and reports released Friday, November 20, 2015.

Thursday, November 19

*10:05 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 800 block of Malone Street regarding an assault.  According to the report, the complainant stated that his soon-to-be ex-wife assaulted him approximately two years ago.

*10:18 AM – Brownwood Police received a report via telephone of an alleged sexual assault of a child.

*12:09 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of 12th Street.  According to the report, a resident of the neighborhood found a small child wandering the area without adult supervision.  The child’s residence was found and Child Protective Services was contacted.

*5:51 PM – Brownwood Police were called to a residence on 8th Street regarding child abuse.  According to the report, a child was observed to be injured and an adult female, identified as Stacey Raquel Ruiz of San Angelo was arrested for injury to a child/elderly/disabled with intentional bodily injury/family violence and on an unrelated warrant for failure to appear/theft of property equal or greater than $20 less than $500.

*7:13 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to a residence in Brownwood regarding an assault.  According to the report, the father of a BISD student stated that his son had been assaulted at school and was taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.  The father wished to file criminal charges against the juvenile suspect for assault causes serious bodily injury, the report states.  No arrest had been made at the time of the report, according to police.

Friday, November 20

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy observed a male subject slumped over in a vehicle, as if he was passed out.  The deputy made contact with the subject, identified as Jackie Byrd.  According to the report, while speaking to Byrd, the deputy was able to smell a strong odor of fresh marijuana coming from the vehicle. The deputy attempted to detain Byrd, who then drove away, the report states.  The deputy initiated a pursuit, which covered several county roads in the north part of the county and later came to an end on 183 North after the vehicle was spiked by another BCSO deputy.  Byrd was taken into custody with no further incident, charged with evading arrest or detention, and transported to the Brown County Jail.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records.
