Hall

Myrtle Humphries Hall, 94, of Brownwood went to be with our Lord Tuesday, November 17, 2015.

Visitation for Myrtle will be held from 6-9 PM Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Davis Morris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery.

Myrtle was born June 15, 1921 in Lipton Switch, AR. She married James H. (Babe) Hall November 13, 1937 in Lubbock, TX. She loved fishing, camping, traveling, and spending time with her family. She traveled throughout the Southwest selling, delivering, and promoting their business, J.H. Hall’s Mounted Longhorns. Myrtle’s parents and family started mounting and selling the longhorns in the 1920’s. They bought the horns from the meat packing houses, cleaned, sanded, and mounted the horns into hat racks and various items, taking them from Texas to California in a wagon or a Model T to sell. Their business flourished after her husband returned from WWII with the starting of J.H. Hall’s Mounted Longhorns in Brownwood, TX.

Myrtle is survived by her children, J.V. Hall of Brownwood, Linda and Ray Eggleston of Brownwood, Rex and Judy Hall of Hewitt. Grandchildren, Deanna and Max Cox of Pflugerville, Stacey and Greg Roberts of Hewitt, and Craig and Stacey Hall of Hutto. 8 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, all who loved her dearly. She was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, James H. (Babe) Hall, her parents, Benjamin

Gibson Humphries and Lou Etta Meeks Humphries, 4 brothers, Nathaniel Humphries, Lloyd Humphries, Lee Roy Humphries, and James H. (Buddy) Humphries.

The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Oines, Dr. Tom Byrd, Dr. Chris Stevens and the nurses of Brownwood Regional Medical Center for their care and compassion.
