DelaRosa_RobertoRoberto M. Dela Rosa, 77, of Coleman, died Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Coleman County Medical Center.  Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 East College Avenue, Coleman, with Rev. Romanus Akamike officiating.  Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Roberto M. Dela Rosa was born October 26, 1938 in Plainview to Nolberto Dela Rosa and Simona Martinez Dela Rosa.  He grew up in Plainview and at the age of 17 moved to Coleman with his family.  On October 28, 1954, Roberto married Lupe Velasquez in Plainview.  He had his own lawn care business in Coleman.  He loved music and played the accordion.  He also enjoyed working on classic cars and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, Johnny Ray Dela Rosa of Goldthwaite, Robert Dela Rosa, Jr. and wife, Marsha, of The Colony; two daughters, Peggy Sue Rimer of Houston, Nancy Dela Rosa of Houston; two sisters, Virginia Villegas of Coleman, Isabell Quiroz of Abilene; one brother, Arthur Dela Rosa of Abilene; 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lupe Dela Rosa on December 7, 2011; four sons, Tony Dela Rosa, Richard Dela Rosa, Sammy Joe Dela Rosa, Freddie Dela Rosa and one sister, Lupe Luna.

Rosary service will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2015 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman.
