Florence has many other BRMC Volunteer participations which include: Recording Secretary 1975 – 1977, President Elect 1979 – 1980, President 1980 – 1981, Parliamentarian / Chairperson Information Desk 1981 – 1983, Co-Chairperson of the BRMC Gift Shop 1983 – 1986, Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee 1995 – 2011,President 1999 – 2000, and Parliamentarian 2000 – 2001.  She also served as a District 6 Representative to the Texas State Association of Healthcare Volunteers (TAHV) from 1979 – 2000. The Volunteer of the Month Award is awarded by the BRMC Volunteers each month during the year. Recipients of the Award receive recognition and lunch at the Executive Board Meeting held in the month following the month for which they are selected. Each BRMC Volunteer of the Month recipient is recognized with a framed Volunteer of the Month Certificate, a Gift Card for a Dinner at a local restaurant, and a carrying bag emblazoned with a large heart containing the statement “A Work of Heart.” The carrying bag contains items that celebrate The Texas Association of Healthcare Volunteers motto for 2015 – 2016 “Remember those who cannot Remember; Knowledge empowers caregivers.” This motto emphasizes the need to improve everyone’s knowledge of the disease “Alzheimers.”

The BRMC Volunteers are always excited to meet area individuals who are interested in becoming a Volunteer and are actively soliciting new members. If you have an interest in volunteering a minimum of 6to 8 hours per month, BRMC Volunteering will meet your needs. BRMC Volunteer applications may be obtained in the BRMC Gift Shop, at the front entrance information desk, online at http://www.brmc-cares.com or by calling the BRMC Volunteer Office at 325-649-3399 or emailing the BRMC Volunteers at brmc_volunteer@brmc-cares.com and stating that you would like to become a BRMC Volunteer.
