AllenLarryLarry Dewayne Allen, 59, of Brownwood received his heavenly crown Saturday November 7, 2015 in Brownwood TX.  Funeral Services will be held Sunday November 15, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the New Testament Holiness Church in Bangs, TX, with burial to follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the Brownwood Funeral Home Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 4-6 p.m.

Larry Allen was born in May 22, 1956 in Dallas, TX to the parentage of James Blakes and Dorothy Nell Young. Larry received his primary education from the Dallas Independent School district. Larry relocated to Brownwood in the 70s where he met and married the love of his life Catherine Roberson in 1980 and to this union came 4 children. A Very devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, Larry loved his family and more so he loved God. In his spare time he loved to cook, work on computers, fish and hunt. Larry loved watching wrestling, and would spend countless hours learning different things watching the History Channel. Larry was a selfless person who never met a stranger and would help anyone at any given time.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Nell Young, father James Blakes, sisters Linda Young, and Karen McKinney.

Left to cherish his memories are wife of 35 years Catherine Roberson-Allen of Brownwood, 2 daughters Latoya Allen, Bridney Allen, sons Cody Allen (Holly) of Brownwood, Byron Allen, Elijah , Larry “Puddin” Pierson, and adopted son Steven Smith, all of Brownwood TX. Sister Brenda Williams (Robert) of Brownwood, 2 brothers Dwight Allen of Abilene, and Leslie Adams of Wisconsin, 4 grandchildren Kaydence, Brenda, Kendra, and Jayden, and friend-sister Stumpy. There are also numerous children that knew him as “Pops”, and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends.
