Clara Trevino Hernandez

ClaraHernandezFuneral services for Clara Trevino Hernandez, age 92, of Bangs will be at 10:00 AM, Monday at Primera Iglesia Bautista, 1600 Melwood Avenue in Brownwood.  Burial will follow in the Bangs Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Clara Trevino Hernandez was born on July 14, 1923 in Melvin, Texas, was married to Antonio Marines Hernandez on October 25, 1946, had one daughter and four sons, and passed away on November 5, 2015 in Austin.

Clara’s parents were Juan Dios Trevino and Cecilia Castanuela from the Melvin and Brady area.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ventura and wife, Inocente Trevino, and Raymond Trevino and wife, Lydia from Bakersfield, CA, and sister Delfina and husband Joe de Cortez Trevino.  Other family include brothers and sisters –in-law Rudy Marines Hernandez (deceased) and wife Maria Hernandez from Ogden, Utah, Conrad Marines Hernandez and wife Esther from Ogden, Utah and Thomas Gonzales and wife, Clemencia from Brady, Severo and Angelina Bara (both deceased), Concha Marines from Weslaco.

Her children are Albert Trevino Hernandez from Bastrop, Mary Cardoza from Bangs, David Trevino Hernandez from Arlington, John Trevino Hernandez (deceased), and Steven Trevino Hernandez from Bangs.

Clara’s grandchildren are Jonathan and wife Hannah from LaGrange, Rebecca L Hernandez from Bryan, Cecilia A. Cardoza from Brownwood, Cassandra and Jason Reiger from Zephyr and Anton Hernandez from Arlington.

Her great grandchildren include Sergio, Jazlyn, and Micayla Gutierrez from Brownwood, Emily and Christa Mendoza from Zephyr.  She was also looking forward to another great granddaughter expected in January by Jonathan and Hannah Hernandez!

Clara lived a long, faithful life to God, her husband, and her children.   She read her Bible every day, prayed for her family and friends continuously, and loved to sing and listen to Christian and gospel music. She had many talents such as quilting, crocheting, and embroidery.  She was an excellent homemaker and cooked the best tortillas in Texas! Family and friends will miss her dearly!
