BHSCheerToyDrive2015BHS Cheer Toy Drive will be collecting new and gently used toys which will benefit the Heart of Texas Children’s Advocacy Center.  The toy drive will run October 19-30 at all BISD schools, with drop boxes located at all campuses in the district.  All toys will be donated to the Heart of Texas Children’s Advocacy Center.

To kick start the toy drive, BHS Cheerleaders will have a pizza night October 19th with their “Littles.”

Additionally, on October 24th, Chili’s will host Cheer Night with all monetary donations being used to purchase additional toys for the HOTCAC.  There will also be a toy drop box available at the event.

HOTCAC’s mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of children and families, breaking the cycle of abuse one child at a time.

Staggering statistics:

  • 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused before their 18th birthday.
  • 1 in 5 children are sexually solicited on the Internet.
  • Only 1 in 10 children will tell someone about their abuse.  Most children never tell.
  • 95% of sexually assaulted children are abused by someone they know and trust.

The HOTCAC appreciates donations of any size.  These contributions make a profound and positive difference in the lives of abused children in the local community.  It is through the generosity of donors that all abused children in the local community have access to the essential and caring services that the Heart of Texas Advocacy Center provides.
