Funeral services for Virgil D. “Bud” Ellis will be Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Heartland Funeral Chapel Early, Texas.  Interment will follow at the May Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday October 9, 2015 from 6-7:00 PM.

Mr. Ellis passed away at his home Tuesday, October 6, 2015.

Bud was born April 14, 1926 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Guy Cyril and Otto Mae Lambert Ellis.  He worked for Paymaster Feeds for over thirty years.  He was currently involved in ranching.  He served his country in the Navy during World War II.  He married Tommie McGregor January 26, 1952 in Merkel, Texas.

Bud is survived by his wife of sixty-three years Tommie Ellis of May, Texas, two sons Dubbs Ellis of Palestine, Texas and Butch Ellis of May, Texas, one daughter Debra and husband John Gordon of Lepato, Arkansas.  He is also survived by his grandchildren; Jeffery Brooks, Leigh Ann Young, Rebecca Ellis, Chris Ellis, Chad Ellis, and Kenneth Ellis.  He is survived by nine great-grandchildren, one sister Juanita Shirley, and two sisters-in-law Edith and Frances Ellis and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Jack and Kenneth Ellis.
