October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Brownwood ISD is supporting this cause once again this year by designating Friday, October 16th as “Pink-Out” day.  Faculty, staff, and students throughout the district will be seen wearing pink throughout the day to increase awareness and raise money for those within the BISD family that are currently fighting cancer.

Brownwood ISD is encouraging employees, students, parents, and community members to consider purchasing the pink t-shirt designed specifically for the event and wear it to school or work and to the Brownwood Lions vs. Wylie Bulldogs football game later that evening. The football game begins at 7:30 p.m., and the BHS Lions football players, as well as all extracurricular groups (drill team, cheerleaders, Lion Crew, band, etc.) will be sporting pink on their uniforms.

This year’s t-shirt features a “Fight like a Lion,” theme with the message, “SUPPORT THE FIGHTERS, ADMIRE THE SURVIVORS, HONOR THE TAKEN” printed on the back. The t-shirt is available by pre-order only.  Order forms can be found online at www.brownwoodisd.org/pinkout and can also be filled out at the Brownwood ISD Central Office at 2707 Southside Drive, or at any Brownwood ISD campus.

The cost per t-shirt is $10 for all sizes youth through adult XL, and $12 for 2X and 3X.  Orders must be turned in no later than Thursday, October 1st at 4:30 p.m.

This is the 4th year for the “Pink-Out” fundraiser, which raised a profit of over $15,000 last year, with a large $5000 donation from Big Country Ford revealed at the game.

With only a short time remaining to place orders for the newest t-shirt, Brownwood ISD hopes to continue the success of the fundraising effort which has helped several individuals within the district battling cancer.
