Cassidy_ElvieElvie Lee Cassidy, age 78, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 in New Braunfels, Texas.  She was born on September 5, 1937 to Samuel Walter and Susan Elizabeth James in Madisonville, Texas where she was brought up with strong Baptist roots. A loving wife and mother who dedicated her life to supporting her family, including her extended family.

After her husband’s retirement, they traveled extensively to visit family around the country. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Amanda Michelle Baker. Elvie is survived by her husband, Ernest Leo Cassidy; children, Sammie Wayne Baker “Bo” and wife Laurie, Loyce Griffin and husband Kenny, Susan Elizabeth Taylor (Cassidy), Ernest Elton Cassidy Jr. and Edward Wayne Cassidy and wife Anita; as well as numerous grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday, October 2, 2015, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.

PORTER LORING MORTUARY NORTH CHAPEL

Rev. Joe Walts will officiate.  Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
