The Brownwood Police Department welcomed two new officers as they took the Oath of Office and Law Enforcement Oath of Honor on Tuesday, September 22, at the Brownwood City Council meeting.

Officers Noe Acosta and Stephen Bates recently joined the BPD force, and took the oaths, with family, friends and coworkers present to celebrate the occasion.

Officer Acosta’s badge was ceremoniously pinned by his 4-year-old daughter Jasmine. Officer Bates was pinned by his finance Kellie Raines and her daughter Karissa.

Police Chief Mike Corley stated, “We are blessed to hire these two men.  I expect big things out of these guys.”

Mayor Stephen Hanyes voiced his appreciation for the new officers.  “You are in our thoughts and prayers.  We appreciate what you do for our community,” said Haynes.  “To the little girls present today, we’re proud of your daddys.”

Pictured above are officers Bates (left) and Acosta (right).  Below are photos during the oaths and pinning of badges.
