Brown County Sheriff Bobby Grubbs was brought home to Brown County with an escort of fellow law enforcement officers and firefighters on Thursday night.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., the hearse carrying the body was escorted down Bangs Hill into Brownwood with more than a dozen vehicles with lights flashing honoring the Sheriff.

BCSO Captain Vance Hill stated that the processional began in Abilene as BCSO units were joined by several other agencies on their way to Brown County, including Texas Department of Public Safety, Abilene Police Department, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, Brownwood Police Department, Coleman County Sheriff’s Office and Coleman Police Department, Coleman Fire Department, Early Police Department, Santa Anna Police Department and Santa Anna Fire Department.  The procession ended at Heartland Funeral Home in Early.

Hill stated that it was “very humbling” to see the other agencies pay their respect to Sheriff Grubbs.

Citizens along the way remarked on social media how they had been honored to see the procession.

Arrangements are pending at Heartland Funeral Home.
