sprowlsFuneral Services for Nancy Sprowls, age 69, of Brownwood will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2015, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Billy Slaymaker officiating; burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon from 3-5 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.

Nancy passed away peacefully Thursday, August 20, 2015, at her residence with her family by her side after a courageous fight from cancer.

Nancy was born to J.C. and Callie Lois (Nealy) Campbell on December 19, 1946, in Brownwood. She married the love of her life, Deral Sprowls, on April 16, 1966, in Brownwood. They had three children, Scott, Stacy, and Jill. Nancy was a devoted wife and mother. She worked at Brownwood Woolen Mill as a supervisor until its closing.  After that she focused on raising her family. Once their children grew up she decided to go back to work, managing J & E Recycled Reading; she was an avid reader.

Nancy was active in Brownwood Band Boosters from 1982 – 1993, served as vice-president, concession manager, and president; she assisted even after her children graduated. Nancy spent her free time attending functions for her grandchildren, who affectionately called her Grammy. She also spent her time tracing her family heritage. Nancy loved camping and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed woodworking and painting different crafts in her spare time.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Deral Sprowls; daughter, Jill Sprowls and partner D.A.; sons, Scott Sprowls and wife Debbie, Stacy Sprowls and wife Laura; seven grandchildren, Seth Sprowls, Jacob Sprowls, Quenton Sprowls, Callie Sprowls, Maykayla Sprowls, Kaylee Sprowls, and Kelly Chavez; brothers, Jack and Darrell Campbell. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Callie Lois Campbell.

The family would like to extend gratitude to Solaris Hospice for all their support, care, and assistance during her brief, but hard fought battle with lung cancer, especially Rhonda Graves.

Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
